Watercolour Painting

This is a guide to help you source materials and equipment needed for classes. You are welcome to purchase items from stores of your choice - so long as they are similar and fulfil the required tasks. Please check first if you are unsure whether certain items will be needed for your class (e.g. for more specialised items such as protractors).

I recommend Zart Art (located in Box Hill North, Victoria) who are a major art equipment supplier to schools across the country. They offer fast delivery for a minimal fee. Stores like OfficeworksSpotlight and Big W are great for the budget conscious or if you want to pick up anything locally.

Watercolour Paints & Equipment

Plastic Pipettes (droppers) or small pouring jug (for water)

Watercolour Paper (at least 200 gsm) - A3 is generally preferable

Watercolour Pad A4 - 12 sheets: https://www.zartart.com.au/product/PD897-CP

Watercolour Pad A3 - 12 sheets: https://www.zartart.com.au/product/PD898-CP

200gsm Cartridge Paper A4 - 100 sheets (good for practising on a budget): https://www.zartart.com.au/product/PA154

Best buy: 200gsm Cartridge Paper A3 - 100 sheets (good for practising on a budget): https://www.zartart.com.au/product/PA150

Gummed Tape
(requires water to activate)

Wooden Support Board (A bit larger than A3 to allow for taping.

The best place to get one is a hardware store - they can usually cut them to size for you. MDF or masonite board works well.)
